LEUSD Professional Development 2024-2025

Common Assessments are right around the corner! K-2 teachers are invited to come and develop a better understanding of our new common assessment platforms SVMI (Math) and Acadience (ELA). This PD is designed to:

1. Cultivate an understanding of the assessment's design and ability to guide/inform instruction. 
2. Provide hands-on practice scoring assessments and entering data.
3. Develop best practices for analyzing the data in PLCs. 
4. Provide access to follow up resources that support instruction.

The day will be split in half, one portion dedicated to understanding the use of SVMI and the other portion dedicated to Acadience. This PD has been created to support K-2 and RSP teachers only. Lunch will be provided.

Goal 3

Join members of the CDE, classroom teachers, and administrators as they share how they are promoting and using state-provided interim assessments to support teaching and learning in the classroom. Each webinar in the series will focus on a different set of interim assessments, including those for Smarter Balanced English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics, the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), and the California Science Test (CAST). In addition, each webinar will include question-and-answer time. It’s a new school year! …AND with the excitement of the year, there may also be feelings of stress, overwhelm, or fears related to the previous year (or years). ‘Burnout’ in the educational realm continues to be a growing issue as many practitioners are straying away from this field. What can we do for ourselves? And how can we support our colleagues and staff? This two-part series will provide insight and strategies to continue to build our own systems of coping and strengthen our campuses to prioritize the needs of our educational communities. Session 2 will examine how to create a system of community wellness and care for educational staff to mitigate burnout. Join us as we discuss educator wellness as a vital and critical component for successful student outcomes.
