What Supports Adolescent Literacy? Part One
Wednesday November 13, 2024 3:30pm - 4:30pm PST
This is the first part of a three (3) part series of professional development (PD) focusing on literacy supports for grades 4-12, based on recommendations from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES).

According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress's (NAEP's) 2022 report, more than 37% of 4th graders and 30% of 8th graders are reading at a below basic level. In order to meet challenges that teachers have in supporting our struggling readers, this PD will provide proven strategies, routines, and structures that have high effect rates with improvements in literacy. Teacher take aways include: specific routines, instructional practices, graphic organizers, and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on these practices.
